The Tallinn Open WTA tennis tournament is the first professional women’s tennis tournament in Estonia, which will take place from September 24 to October 2 at Forus Sports Centre in Tondi. The purpose of the tennis tournament is to develop this sport in Estonia and ensure its long-term sustainability. To give Estonian female tennis players the opportunity to play in a high-level WTA tournament, earn ranking points and facilitate an international tennis career. To give the Estonian sports audience the opportunity to see and support Estonian female tennis players. To invite international professional tennis competition organizers and spectators to Estonia thus developing the image of Estonia as an internationally recognized tennis sport destination.

As a result of the cooperation, a high-level international tennis tournament will be held with 60 international tennis players participating. In addition, professional tennis tournament organizers as well as tennis fans and spectators will visit Estonia.

The organization of the tournament is supported with 64,999.20 euros by the European Regional Development Fund through the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency.
